Some of my earliest memories of my mother involved poetry. In elementary school, I had such a difficult time remembering my spelling words and their meanings. In an effort to help me, my mother would write stories and poems with me about my spelling words to help me remember. We would write in all the different styles and just had a really fun time with it. As I grew older, this branched into writing short stories and poetry together.
Several years ago I was challenged at a personal development seminar to create a piece of artwork that spoke to us. As I sat pondering on what I should write, the memory of my mother and I reading from this book popped into my head. I felt inspired to write this poem for two voices. My beautiful daughter London recorded it with me.
Visions of Me

This is beautiful! The poem, the video, the memories of your mom. I love it all!
